(Lanka-e-News -08.April.2026, 10.15 AM) With the aim of reaching a permanent solution based on the 10-point proposal presented by Iran, America has declared a two-week ceasefire by stopping all attacks against Iran. Israel has also agreed to it, and it has been stated that the ceasefire will also apply to Lebanon and other conflict zones.
In response, Iran stated that it will facilitate naval traffic through the Strait of Hormuz during the ceasefire declared by America with Iranian supervision and coordination.
The last-minute ceasefire, agreed upon with the initial intervention of the Pakistani army chief, can be considered a major strategic victory not only for Iran but for any country in the world since World War II, based on its military might. Although the Iranian 10-point proposal seemed far from reality at one point, the fundamental reason for this situation is that the United States and Israel no longer have the ability to continue the war against Iran.
As Iran had announced, peace talks between the United States and Iran are scheduled to begin next Friday in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The following are the Iranian proposals that the United States has initially agreed to:
1. Commitment by the United States to a policy of non-aggression.
2. Continued Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz.
3. Acceptance of uranium enrichment.
4. Removal of all primary sanctions.
5. Removal of all secondary sanctions.
6. Cancellation of all resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
7. Cancellation of all resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors.
8. Making compensation payments to Iran.
9.Withdrawal of American combat forces from the region.
10. Cease war on all fronts
