(Lanka-e-News -04.May.2026, 6.10 PM) Fort Magistrate Isuru Netthikumara, who has taken controversial decisions in recent times, has been appointed as the Senior Assistant Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission. Netthikumara has been appointed to the position that has fallen vacant due to the former Senior Assistant Secretary of the Commission taking leave. This appointment has been made by the Judicial Service Commission.
The Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission is Prasanna Alwis. Its secretariat has a Deputy Secretary and a Senior Assistant Secretary. Accordingly, Isuru Netthikumara has been appointed as the new Senior Assistant Secretary.
Mount Lavinia Magistrate Pasan Amarasena has been appointed to the position of Fort Magistrate that has fallen vacant due to the resignation of Netthikumara. The Fort Magistrate's Court is one of the courts where many of the country's controversial cases are primarily heard.
