(Lanka-e-News -10.July.2015, 11.55PM) Polonnaruwe Pallewatte Gamarala the Island’s chieftain who recently beat the record of Judas for betrayal which the latter held for centuries , has this morning decided to grant nominations to Duminda Silva and Sarana Gunawardena both of whom were not be granted nominations based on their putrid records, as revealed by reliable informed sources of the UPFA.
Wife of Sarana Gunawardena is to be granted nominations in place of her husband.Meanwhile Raththaran alias Kalutara gold chain robber is also to be granted nominations.
Yesterday night , about 50 UPFA leaders had visted Medamulana Mahinda’s house and reiterated that elections shall be contested under the symbol flower bud instead of Betel leaf. Weerawansa , , Vasu , Dinesh, Prasanna , UFA secretary Susil and SLFP secretary Anura Priyadharshana Yapa have participated in this meeting .
This group that promoted the symbol flower bud has stated , that about 7 members of their group have not received nominations yet , and 25 members who are very strongly pro Maithri are most likely to enter the new parliament , and in the event they join with the UNP after becoming MPs , their group will become very small. Citing this ground , they have therefore proposed to Mahinda to have the symbol flower bud so that all members of the Mahinda faction can contest elections.
However Mahinda has expressed reluctance to accept this proposal as people are now accustomed to the symbol Betel leaf . Mahinda had on the other hand told them ,in order to defeat the pro Maithri group at the elections ,their groups in three must campaign together, as that is best in the circumstances.In that case , the pro Maithri groups can be reduced to about 9, Mahinda has pointed out. Mahinda has also revealed that pressure should be exerted to grant nominations to Duminda Silva , Sarana Gunawardena ,, Sajin Vaas and Ratththaran to whom it had been decided nominations shall not be granted.
Accordingly , this morning at 10.00 , Vasu, DEW Gunasekera and G.L, group have met with the Island’s chieftain . At the meeting it was agreed that Duminda Silva, Kalutara Raththaran and instead of Sarana Gunwardena his wife shall be given nominations.
Though there is no case against Mervyn Silva, but because he opposed during the last presidential elections , and later the Rajapakses , the Rajapakse group had objected to giving him nominations. Neverthless , rejected Mervyn Silva is to cited to illustrate that corrupt individuals will not be granted nominations .
