(Lanka-e-News- 02.March.2021, 11.00PM) The Presidential Commission appointed in November 2019 to investigate the Islamic extremist attack on Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, April 21, concluded its work last January 27th. The commission examined the evidences of 450 people, including former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and security chiefs. The Commission concluded its proceedings by applying sudden brakes. Although the report of the Presidential Commission on the Easter Attack, which ended up blaming only those who did not prevent the attack, is incomplete, it is also becoming a boomerang for the present government.
Throughout the history of the country, the Presidential Commissions and other commissions set up to sabotage public funds have achieved nothing, the country and the people as well as to fulfill the hopes of the victims. However, some of the highlights of the commission's report, which received international attention, have been removed from the commission's report without being publish to the Cardinal, Parliament and to the public, citing 'sensitive issues related to' national security 'that could adversely affect the existence of the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government (Creating, maintenance and support of extremist organizations) The Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government exploiting this using several clauses in the Right to Information Act that has so far ruthlessly criticized.
A limited number of people who love justice are quietly intervening to bring justice to the suffering of the victims by exerting pressure and struggle in various ways.
Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith also stated his new position at a special press conference had on the 11th February, stating that he would go to the International criminal Court seeking Justice for the people if it did not submit a full report to him of the Presidential Commission on the Easter attack and conduct a speedy and fair investigation. He said that the relatives of those who lost their lives in that barbaric attack is expecting justice, not compensation or other material benefits.
International organizations and institutions have been established to prevent the recurrence of such crimes in the civilized world and to do justice to the victims if justice is not done within the country. There is nothing wrong with that. Incumbent Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Vasudeva Nanayakkara took the files to the Human Rights Commissioner in Geneva against serious human rights violations that took place in Sri Lanka in 1988 and 1989. We think it would be a good idea for the Cardinal, who has been critical of international institutions and Western concepts for upholding human rights and justice in the past, to have faith once again in such superior institutions.
Caridnal Malcom Ranjith without being a crying sky during the drought, it would be timely to set aside seeking false dream of justice from the present government, which is talking nonsense about the Easter crime. We also believe that he has a lot to gain from international support to seek justice.
However six days later, on Wednesday 17th February Cardinal told another absurd story while attending a service at St. Anthony's Church in Kochchikade. He said he was not satisfied with the legal action taken by the current government so far on the Easter crime and he would refer the case to the court of God for justice.
We have serious doubts as to whether it was Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith who spoke or another person who defended the government under the guise of Cardinal when Malcom Ranjjith in his sermon on Ash Wednesday, without telling that he would go to the international criminal seeking justice to the catholic community for the Easter attack, he is trying to protect the current government, which is deviously twisting and turning its back against the international community and embroiled in the Easter crime by creating a fear of the international like the Rajapaksa government.
In order to prevent the hostility from the families of the victims to this crime, a subtle program has been launched to alleviate the protest by consoling all those who died on Easter Day has gone to the arms of God.
Instead of the opportunistic lies of politicians about the Easter attack, the points made by several security chiefs should be taken seriously.
Former DIG Ravi Seneviratne, who was in charge of the CID, testified before the commission that the country's national security was in jeopardy until a proper investigation identified the groups that planned and financed the brutal attack. Support for Saharan's extremist activities came not from any foreign country but from within the country.
Former CID director Shani Abeysekera, who last testified before the commission, said the preliminary investigations done by the CID had not revealed any ISIS involvement or direct foreign intervention.
The fact is that the vast majority of criminals are still at large in the country. We are left with the mystery, what is the basis the present government is constantly vociferating that it has strengthened the national security that was in danger during the period of good governance, which is a slogan often used by the present government, after it came to power.
Experts on criminal investigations point out that the country is in danger despite the masterminds of this horrific crime is not exposed. Is it because the regime knows and obeys those criminals who have not been identified so far that the national security of the country is strong under the present Gotabhaya Rajapaksa regime?
So, isn't there more than enough room in the country to carry out more horrific massacres targeting innocent people in the future to sustain power? So the delay in justice is sure to lead to another catastrophe.
From time to time, various jokes made by politicians about this long-planned extremist attack are coming to the fore. Among them was the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Minister of State Dayasiri Jayasekara at a recent ceremony in Kurunegala revealed it is imperative to investigate who had the benefit according to the exposure of Namal Kumara, to conspire the killing of the former president Maithripala Sirisena and the present president Gotabaya Rajapaksa to capture power?
We also challenge Dayasiri Jayasekara to revive the Namal Kumara drama once again under the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government where you are pleased with your state ministry and jack up the Gotabaya Rajapaksa government which is prostituting your party. People must never forget and the people must definitely question Dayasiri to bring back the adventurous series of murders narrated by Namal Kumara and why those investigations were halted following the Easter attack.
Dayasiri should also be reminded to find out about the mobs, attacked the properties of Muslims around the country about a month following the Easter attack. Who are these thugs behind enslaving today? It is a shame that Dayasiri Jayasekara has forgotten that he came with a group of mobs including a thug named 'Namal Kumara' came to destruct the properties of the Muslims in the Hettipola police area in the Kurunegala district. The properties of the Muslims in the Minuwangoda area were set on fire under the leadership of Madumadhava Aravinda, the second in command of Gammanpila's Pivithuru Hela Urumaya party. It is extremely important to find out who protected them for the future of this investigation.
It should be reminded that Dayasiri Jayasekara is also an accused in the Easter attack. President Sirisena summoned unwanted people to the Security Council at that time ignoring to summon the important people. Dayasiri is one of them. If so, Dayasiri is also an accused for the collapse of the national security.
Namal Kumara's story, which includes scenes of plots to assassinate President Maithripala and current President Gotabhaya Rajapakse, Maithripala Sirisena was well-informed and created this conspiracy with the advice of several intelligence operatives who were enslaved to the Rajapaksas, including former state intelligence chief Nilantha Jayawardena. Nilantha Jayawardena was abruptly imprisoned the head of the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID), Nalaka Silva, and settled a long-running police feud with him on the principle of striking two birds with one stone.
In addition to the privileges given to the henchmen Namal Kumara by the Maithripala Sirisena government, the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa government has also given membership in the Pohottu political party, candidacy for elections, a luxury vehicle and a driver with fuel.
It is inevitable that all those in charge of security, including former President Maithripala Sirisena, will be blamed for the brutal Easter attack. Meanwhile, Dayasiri Jayasekere, Thilanga Sumathipala, Mahinda Amaraweera and Vasudeva, who was in the opposition at the time, who sat in the National Security Council at Sirisena's invitation, are also responsible. Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's claim that he was not summoned to the Security Council therefore he is not aware about the attack and cannot escape as a baby.
Chief of State Intelligence Nilantha Jayawardena told the Commission without any hesitation that 225 members in Parliament, from the decision-making Commander-in-Chief, and nearly 15,000 people responsible for security had been aware of the attack since before the Easter attack launched on April 11th 2019.
If such a heinous crime had taken place in another country where 300 people had been killed and about 500 had been left permanently disabled, would those scoundrels who knew about this crime still be able to maintain their wives and children with public tax money and enjoy privileges?
Many stories, screenplays, and scenes are being created to escape the crime of the Easter attack and to cover it up. The government has deliberately brought to the fore a presidential commission on political revenge to prevent the Easter commission from becoming the first topic in the country. The country's opposition is now talking about the governments attempt to deprive politicians of their civic rights instead of the lives of those who lost their lives in the Easter crime. (If Mahinda Rajapaksa in the opposition, he would set aside the launching of the nationwide protest demanding civil rights and enforce the law against the Easter crime) It is a great blessing for the government to further postpone the role of the weak opposition.
The government and some of the government sponsored media are deliberately attaching other news such as the destruction of the Muthurajawela wetland to divert the attention of the Catholic public. The people of those areas without coming to the streets for their loved ones who were innocently killed on Easter Sunday protesting by hoisting black flags in vehicles against the environmental destruction happening at the Muthurajawela brought to the fore by the government. People should launch protest against the destruction of Muthurajawela but we need to take to the streets even more organized against the suppression of the Easter crime.
We must use previous articles to help defeat those tactics of those involved in the current government who are making a vicious attempt to suppress the truth through various means. To be more aware of the Easter crime as well as to make justice a reality let us briefly state some of these questions.
1. Why the Commission did not investigate the (public) funding by the Ministry of Defense for 21 extremist organizations, including the National Tawheed Jamaat (NTJ) of the Saharan Hashim extremist terrorist group, since 2010?
2. Why was there no further investigation into the first intelligence received on April 4, 2019 about the Easter attack?
3. Why did the retired DIG of the National Intelligence Agency ignore IGP Poojitha Jayasundara's awareness in a letter dated 9th April 2019 containing the names and addresses of the extremist terrorists who committed suicide, including Saharan?
4. DIG Priyalal Dasanayake, who was in charge of the Special Security Division, wrote a series of suicide attacks on 11.04.2019, excluding the Police Public Division.
* Director Ministerial Defense Division
* Director Embassy Security Division
* Director Judicial Division
* On whose instructions did the Director inform only the Retired Presidential Divisions four and five?
5. Why is there no investigation against Abdul Razik, secretary general of the Ceylon Thawheed Jamath (CTJ), who sought to create another extremist sectarian conflict by socializing a false claim that the Supreme Buddha ate carcasses, and 'high-ranking officials in the current government, including a person who have fled to India, Pulestine Mahendran alias Sarah Jesmin (Suspected to be hiding with the knowledge of an intelligence chief)
(The headquarters of the Ceylon Tawheed Jamath (CTJ) was opened in Maligawatte in 2012 under the leadership of Abdul Razik with the participation of then Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa)
6. Who created the stories, news, posters, pamphlets about the LTTE's resurgence in the North to prevent monitoring the activities of the extremist Saharan in the Eastern Province after 2015? Who advised?
7. Where is the report on the investigations carried out by the FBI in the United States came to Sri Lanka on 22.04.2019 following the Easter attack? Why this Presidential Commission did not investigate the reports of the FBI and other international investigators who visited Sri Lanka at that time?
