How did America's war on Iran, which started with a threat of 'surrender unconditionally or face the consequences,' conclude with a pledge to 'make Iran great again'? - An analysis...! (The final part)

(Lanka-e-News -08.July.2025, 8.15 PM) [The Israel-Iran war is not an isolated or extraordinary occurrence; rather, it reflects the evolving global trends of our time. This article explores this trend from a historical viewpoint, supported by credible evidence.]

It’s important to note that the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran started to disrupt the global order. This is clearly illustrated by Trump's subsequent actions following the rush to declare a ceasefire.

A changing political landscape

Trump, eager to connect with European leaders he had previously clashed been at odds, attended the NATO summit to mend ties. He greeted them with handshakes saying that his stance on NATO had shifted. Additionally, he pledged to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defence systems and satellite intelligence.

The United States, having lost the trade war with China, a country that holds significant control over rare earth materials, announced the success of negotiations with China and the impending lifting of trade sanctions. Another crucial tweet highlighted that China is now permitted to purchase oil from Iran, while also having the option to buy oil from the US. This indicates a shift in the global political landscape and reflects a new strategy on the part of the US.

Based on this sequence of events, we can make some assumptions about what might occur next. The United States appears to seek a temporary compromise with China, suggesting that immediate war over Taiwan is unlikely. Additionally, the US is looking to negotiate with Iran. During peacetime, the infiltration of spies becomes more feasible. The US may also orchestrate protests against the Iranian regime through various methods, including potential collaboration with Mossad and CIA operations.

Although America's confidence in Israel has been compromised, it cannot forsake its ally, as Israel is crucial for maintaining U.S. influence in the Middle East. With Syria now out of the picture and both Hezbollah and Hamas weakened the Palestinian issue—of which Iran has little capacity to play significant role—will remain unresolved. Iran will need time to recover from the war's aftermath and bolster its own strength.

However, the US appears to be orchestrating a carefully managed resolution to the Gaza conflict, aiming to de-escalate tensions in the region. Clearly, the US intends to take a secondary role in the Ukraine war by aligning itself with European leaders. The goal seems to be to weaken Russia and encourage it to engage in peace negotiations.

America's hegemony would be weakened if such a war However, there is another possibility also that cannot be ruled out at some point: if Iran uses this pause to bolster its power, which could potentially challenge US dominance and Israeli aggressive expansionism, it could provoke another US-led strike, possibly involving Israel and other hawkish leaders such as Macron (France), Starmer (UK), and Merz (Germany). America's hegemony would be undermined if such a war were to recommence.

In conclusion

On January 17, 1961, as he concluded his presidency, US President Dwight Eisenhower delivered a well-known farewell speech at the White House. In this address, he provided a pointed warning to the public regarding the dangers that the commercialization of the military posed to democratic governance. (You can watch it in the You Tube.) He held a significant position within the American military hierarchy, serving as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War II. He held the rank of five-star general. His prophetic warning is more relevant today than ever before.

During World War II, the United States emerged as the modern weapons factory for the world, gradually evolving into a dominant military arms-producing state. Throughout the Cold War, as tensions mounted between the Soviet Union and the United States, the private arms manufacturing sector in the U.S. expanded significantly, surpassing other industries through advancements in technology. This growth reached a level where the industry seemed unable to thrive without ongoing wars. Therefore, the arms sector formed a strong alliance with Israeli lobby, the AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee), which had become a powerful organization since its establishment in 1954.

These two forces, together with the Jewish elite who wielded power over global financial institutions and major international media, began to influence the US government and its foreign policy. Israel turned into a testing ground for the private arms industry of the United States, while the Palestinians were treated as subjects of experimentation. Following the fall of the Soviet Union, the United States, supported by NATO, sought to extend its hegemonic reach worldwide, a process often referred to as globalization.

In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, a wave of Islamophobia created, leading to the invasion of several Muslim countries and the exploitation of their wealth and resources. This situation generated substantial profits for American warlords and oil tycoons, establishing these two sectors as key pillars of the U.S. economy and many other industries were ignored. Consequently, numerous industries that once played a significant role in the US economy have vanished. Over 90,000 factories relocated from the US to countries like China. On the positive side, the emergence of the cloud economy in the 1970s led to the rise of major corporations such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.

Concurrently, this period witnessed the emergence of notable hightech businesses, such as Elon Musk's Tesla and the iPhone, which benefited from the cloud sector. Although the military sector also relies on cloud technology, a tension is beginning to surface between the two. Warlords who produce weapons thrive on war, while equally wealthy cloud entrepreneurs seek expansive markets and a peaceful environment free from war. This paradox has emerged as a notable trend in America.

Additionally, the modern high-tech industries, historically dominated by the United States until recently—particularly the cloud economy—are now facing challenges from China and Russia. China has outpaced the U.S. in several domains, especially in artificial intelligence, while Russia leads the U.S. in certain military areas. Furthermore, China's dominance over rare earth minerals, critical for both military applications and the cloud economy, along with its Belt and Road initiative, which reshapes global connections, presents significant obstacles to U.S. hegemony.

This trend is demonstrated by the growth of BRICS.A major factor in this is Iran's rise in the strategically important Middle East. The Jimmy Carter doctrine  has clearly highlighted the significance of the middle east  in the struggle for global supremacy. In an increasingly multipolar world, the United States is no longer able to overcome all of these challenges or continue to hold its hegemony. It must therefore reassess its foreign policy and economic strategy. The present ceasefire has given the US the time it needs to make this transition.

At this pivotal moment in America's future, the trajectory of both economic and foreign policy will hinge on the outcome between the arms-producing warlords, supported by the Israeli lobby AIPAC, and the emerging cloud economy companies in the United States.

The great American people have a remarkable history. They were the pioneers of the War of Independence, introduced a modern constitution to the nation, and achieved the eight-hour workday after a prolonged May Day struggle.

Conversely, the American ruling class is brutally merciless. It founded America atop the graves of the indigenous populations. They also enslaved and cruelly exploited countless fellow human beings. The same capitalist elite have now transitioned into imperialists and ostensibly champions of democracy and human rights while simultaneously exploiting other countries, bombing defenceless civilians, including women and children there, and supporting corrupt dictators and tyrants who cater to their interests.

Sadly, the people, who receives crumps of the imperialist booty, also swayed by the ideologies and distorted culture pushed by imperialist media, Hollywood films, and mainstream literature, which keeps them entrenched in a fantasy, oblivious to the realities of the outside world. Many people’s organisations and labour movements have become extensions of the ruling class parties. A NGO culture is emerging, which co-opts and corrupts the awakening intellectuals.

However, the United States' ongoing political and economic crises, the emergence of social organizations and the power of social media, women's empowerment, the dismantling of racial barriers, and the growing anti-war sentiment of the populace are all causing revolutionary changes in the country. Through numerous popular protests, they have continuously demonstrated their collective strength. We cannot expect meaningful change in America until this growing grassroots movement picks up steam.
